President Cristina broke her ankle during her Christmas holiday

This year has been a tough year for President Christina Fernández de Kircher. This time Christina broke her left ankle while she was enjoying her Christmas holidays with her family in their holiday house in Río Gallegos, in Santa Cruz.

On Friday the 26th Christina broke her ankle and she came directly back to Buenos Aires, to go to the Otamendi Clinic, in Recoleta. The planning of the President was to go back to Buenos Aires on Monday 29th, for the special session to debate the Parlasur lawmakers´ election bill.

President Fernández Resumes Public tasks

After 26 days of absence President Cristina Fernández made her first public appearance. She made her comeback during the annual convention of the Argentine Chamber of Construction in Buenos Aires.

During President Fernández’ 40-minute speech she discharged the changes on the income tax before the end of the year, by saying: “How can we finance public works if we don’t collect taxes?” She continued by saying that Argentine workers are still the best paid in the whole of Latin America. Argentina´s President returning to work

Last week we informed you that the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is suffering from an infectious fever. Now Jorge Capitanich, the cabinet chief, said that the President is slowly returning to work. Although she is still staying at the presidential residence in Olivos, Ms. Kirchner discussed the main topics on the government’s agenda with other officials.

Although the doctors recommended de Kirchner to take 10 days more rest, after 7 days in the hospital, Capitanish explained that “The president has resumed work while following medical advice to rest.” (more…)

Argentine President Fernandez in hospital with fever

The President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is in hospital in Buenos Aires, she is suffering an ´infectious fever´ according to officials.

An official statement explained that the 61 year old President went to the hospital because she felt sick on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier this year the President had to cancel some official trips due to a series of health problems. Last year she got operated to treat bleeding on the brain and a throat infection caused her absence in this year´s Independence Day celebrations.
