Once again, Argentine couples retained their top spot in tango dancing, as the annual festival held in Buenos Aires ended. Guido Palacios and Florencia Castilla, who are actually a couple in real life as well as in dance, swept the the Stage Tango finals this past Tuesday, scoring 8.89, from a jury comprised of seven dancers and choreographers.

Twenty couples from around the world were left to compete in the Stage finals held at the end of the 2 weeks, but the hometown couples impressed the judges the most as they performed for a large crowd in Buenos Aires’ Luna Park stadium.

Couples from Argentina also came out on top in the Salon competition the prior evening. The top prize is $7000 in cash money as well as a trip to Paris for another performance.
