Estela de Carlotto, President of Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo named as Outstanding Citizen

Estela de Carlotto has been named an Outstanding Citizen by The Latin American Association for Integration (ALADI). Estela de Carlotto is the President of the organization Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, a human rights organization with the aim to find children who disappeared during the dictatorship of Argentina from 1976 to 1986. During this dictatorship around 500 pregnant women were kidnapped and enforced to give birth in detention.

Last week Carlotto received the title in Montevideo, Uruguay. (more…)
