Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival

It’s that time of the year again. Classic bebop, nuevo tango, jazz fusion and swing. The International Jazz Festival in Buenos Aires is celebrated over the next days. The festival has been celebrated every year since 2008 and is host to international talent as well as local artists.

On Tuesday 10 November the BA International Jazz Festival kicked off in Usina del Arte with the Peter Bernstein Quartat.

Trip Advisor: Buenos Aires in the top 10 of cities to visit

Buenos Aires is the big surprise in the annual voting of cities to visit on the website of Trip Advisor this year.

The capital of Argentina changed its 14th spot to a well-deserved 8th. The tourists have spoken and place the city ahead of others such as New York and close to cities as Rome or London.

The top 10 is led by the Moroccan city Marrakech and Buenos Aires is the only Latin American destination in the top 10 ranking. (more…)

Great news for Buenos Aires. The birthplace of Tango, also called The Paris of Latin America, is number 1 top destination of South America according tot the Tripadvisor!

According to Tripadvisor Buenos Aires is, like the tango itself “captivating, seductive and bustling with excited energy. “

Travelers love the different nighborhoods of the Argentina capital, it’s lively nightlife and the European heritage reflected in the architecture, avenidas and parks of Buenos Aires.

Argentinian couple takes the top prize in World Tango competition held in Buenos Aires

Once again, Argentine couples retained their top spot in tango dancing, as the annual festival held in Buenos Aires ended. Guido Palacios and Florencia Castilla, who are actually a couple in real life as well as in dance, swept the the Stage Tango finals this past Tuesday, scoring 8.89, from a jury comprised of seven dancers and choreographers.

Twenty couples from around the world were left to compete in the Stage finals held at the end of the 2 weeks, but the hometown couples impressed the judges the most as they performed for a large crowd (more…)

Tango: Buenos Aires City Dance Champhionship 2013

From Sunday, May 12th to Sunday, May 26th, 2013, Buenos Aires City Tango Dance Championship 2013 will be hosted in various “milongas”, theaters, and cultural centers throughout the city.

The competition is on the lookout for new winning couples in the following categories – Tango de Pista, Milonga, “Milongueros” of the World, and Waltz. The winners will qualify to participate in the World Tango Dance Championship in Buenos Aires in August of 2013.
