Argentina to Host 8th International Congress of Spanish language
Argentina has won the right to host the upcoming prestigious 8th annual International Congress of the Spanish Language. The event is to be held in Cordoba, Argentina in 2019 and will emphasize the educational and cultural aspects of Spanish and the impact of technology on the language. Special attention will also be paid to the “economic value” of Spanish, with phenomena such as language tourism and cultural industries linked to language to be discussed. Argentina pledges to return 4,000 Archeological Artifacts to Peru and Ecuador
The Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has announced that Argentina plans to return archeological artefacts to their South American neighbors including Peru and Ecuador. She commented at the ceremony that she is doing something special and wants to encourage other countries to do the same:
“It is an honor and a pleasure to restore the cultural wealth of countries such as Ecuador and Peru in a world where such wealth has so often been taken away”.
