Animals Permitted on Subway Buenos Aires

Animals are now permitted to travel with their owners on the subway in Buenos Aires, according to a law passed last November.

However, there are some limitations to this new Argentine law.

First, pets must be kept in some sort of carrier. Pets also must ride with their owners in a designated carriage away from other passengers.

Moreover, pet owners are expected to carry proof of a rabies vaccination for their pets to travel legally on the subway. Animals are also barred from escalators or being fed during their subway ride.

This measure is considered a trial and after 180 days, the government will assess its success.
