Last Sunday, the 29th of March, there was a very large outdoor event in Buenos Aires only women were allowed to participate in. The ‘Chicas en Rollers’ event in the neighbourhood of Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires attracted more than 4.000 women with ages ranging from 14 to 50 years old. This event was organised by “Farmacity”, the pharmaceutical chain of Argentina. The day started at 09.00 in the morning with the race which consists of two alternatives; one of 14 kilometres and the other one of 10 km. The race took off at Parque Micaela Bastidas and crossed the following streets; Lanteri, Vera Peñaloza, Av. Achával Rodríguez, Av. Giralt, Macacha Güemes, Av. de los Italianos and Av. Calabria. There was also set up a Roller Village where all kinds of services were provided such as changing rooms, stands with food and drinks etc. After the race, there were games and lotteries in the Village and the event ended with a musical show.
