Buenos Aires Statue of Lionel Messi is Demolished

Recently, a Buenos Aires Statue of Lionel Messi was completely demolished. The statue was constructed at the end of June of last year, and was recently sabotaged.

Statues have also been constructed of other Argentinian athletes, such as Manu Ginobili (basketball), Gabriela Sabatini (tennis), Guillermo Vilas (tennis), Juan Manuel Fangio (Formula One), and Luciana Aymar (hockey).

Lionel Messi´s statue was targeted, as its head, torso, and arms are now missing. In addition, Sabatini´s statue was previously targeted a few years back, when someone stole the racket from the figure.

Authorities have declared that they are currently planning to rebuild Lionel Messi´s statue and restore it to its former glory.
