The International Short Film Festival took place in Buenos Aires starting on Thursday, October 6th and running until Sunday, October 9th.

This Short Film Festival originally began in 2002, but Buenos Aires wasn´t a host until 2014. The festival also takes place in various cities throughout Asia, Europe and Latin America each year.

The manager of the Film Festival in Buenos Aires, Juan Pablo Franky, asserted Buenos Aires´ participation in the event to a local Buenos Aires newspaper: ´´It´s undeniable that Buenos Aires is a famous cosmopolitan city with a busy cultural agenda, and yet it´s always willing to enrich and expand its cultural industries.´´

The festival was held at the San Martín Cultural Centre and the Recoleta Cultural Centre. It is an honor for Buenos Aires to be an annual host of this festival, known as one of the biggest festivals of short films in the world.

The two main film categories were: the International Competition and Made in Argentina. The winner of each category was awarded $20,000.

About 8,000 films were submitted for the event, and the festival showed just 60 of those entries. This was an incredible cultural event that promoted both local and international films in Buenos Aires.
