The Buenos Aires Food Week started 15 September. During this event Buenos Aires’ best restaurants will serve lunch and/or dinner at a promotional price.

The Buenos Aires Food Week lasts 2 weeks and will be held from 15 September to 28 September. Approximately 40 restaurants, spread out through the city, participate in this event. If you want to know exactly what restaurants participate, check out the website: www.bafoodweek.com.

There are fixed prices for lunch, which will be 150 pesos, as well as for dinner, which will be 250 pesos. Neither drinks nor tips are included in the price.

But the Buenos Aires Food Week is not only about enjoying good food. During these two weeks, Buenos Aires Food Week and Fundación Banco de Alimentos work together trying to help the hungry in Argentina.

The mission of Fundación Banco de Alimentos (or the food bank) is to help those who suffer from hunger. They receive donations in the form of food and food-related products from companies and individuals. These products they distribute to social organisations. In 2014 they were feeding over 92,800 people, through 679 different organisations and managed to deliver 4,018,383 kilos of food and food-related products.
